The Gentlest Form

Some regrets are not born from betrayal.

Read within the room
A woman in a dark kimono seated by a round window at night, the garden lit beyond.

Years later, when we look back, we both know:

Had we been a little more mature back then, perhaps the story would have ended differently.

And yet, even so, we still wish each other happiness.

Because by then, it is no longer obsession.

Nor is it unwillingness to let go.

It is simply the gentlest form love leaves behind after losing the future it once imagined.
